On August 2, during one of our visits to Neamț County, we stopped at the Paltin-Petru Vodă Monastery, a nunnery. In fact, in reality, we wanted to visit the Petru Vodă Monastery, about which we wrote here. I was passing through the area when I saw a sign that said Petru Voda Monastery and I didn't get where we wanted. If we still couldn't find it, we stopped at the Paltin Monastery, without even knowing that the Petru Vodă Monastery is not that far from this monastery.
I know about Paltin Monastery that it is an Orthodox monastery founded in 2003, the founder being Iustin Pârvu. It is a monastery with nuns, located a short distance from the Petru Voda Monastery. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Holy Great Martyr Pantelimon, the monastery hosts a community of over a hundred nuns.
Here there is an old people's home (Saint Pantelimon), an orphanage (the Shrine of the Mother of God and a medical dispensary with medical offices of General Medicine and Dentistry. The nuns have a laboratory for the preparation of natural remedies by processing medicinal plants.
The church is wood built in Maramures style, it has Byzantine style painting inside. The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the buildings of the Petru Voda Social-Philanthropic Settlement were worked by several craftsmen who came from Maramureș County.
Although, initially, I was disappointed that I did not find Petru Vodă Monastery, I left there full of positive energy. God bless this place! It seems that God wanted to us get there and guided us to this holy place. He knew that we would reach Petru Vodă, even if it lasted a few more weeks. The two monasteries are part of a monastery complex, obviously called Petru Vodă.
