Special places in Romania - Mini Transylvania Park

 Peles Castle

In September of this year I had the opportunity to visit the most interesting park I have ever seen, Mini Transylvania. A place where I had the opportunity to tour Transylvania in a few hours, and I'm not exaggerating. In this place you can make a foray into history.

Mini Transylvania is the only multicultural theme park with models of historical buildings in Romania. It is located in Băile Szejke, near the town of Odorheiu Secuiesc, Harghita county. Here you can see the models of over 120 historical towns, castles, medieval fortresses and fortified churches in Transylvania. Next to each model is described the history of buildings and places in three languages. The creation of this park was inspired by Mini Europe (Brussels, Belgium) and Minimundus (Klagenfurt, Austria).

Upon entering the park, I was greeted by two emblematic castles of Romania, Peles Castle and Bran Castle. In addition to these, you can also see: Corvin Castle, Deva Citadel, the fortified Church of Biertan, the Brancoveanu Monastery, the central squares of some cities and many other miniature buildings.

I took out my phone to film, I wanted to capture everything. It was something not to be missed. I asked my mom to take the photos because I couldn't do two things at once. I didn't even care about the stifling heat that wanted to drive me out of the park. To see so much history in one place was a wow for me.

I liked that Mini Transylvania is also adapted for people with disabilities. I, a person with disabilities, easily moved through the paths of the park. I have recommended this place to other people with reduced mobility. Firstly, because it is affordable and secondly because of the beauty of the layouts, which imitate the original. I want them to know the architectural, religious and cultural diversity of Transylvania.

In the park, both children and adults can spend an unforgettable day traveling with a mini wagon pulled by a steam locomotive, the only one of its kind existing in Romania. Tickets can be bought at the entrance. Inside the park you can also visit the Orbán Balázs Memorial Center.

After visiting Mini Transylvania, we also passed under the nearby Szekler gates. Currently, the Secuiesti Gates Museum includes 16 gates, carved in the style specific to the Saxon houses in the Odorhei Secuiesc area. The museum is in close proximity to the grave of Orban Balasz, a well-known Szekler writer, ethnographer, historian and politician.

When I decided to visit Mini Transylvania, I did some research beforehand and found out that this park was born from an idea of the Legendarium team in the Szeklerland.

In conclusion, I recommend you to visit Mini Transylvania Park. It is the perfect opportunity to improve your knowledge.

What exactly fascinated me about this park, you will see in the clip below.
