Romania's famous mountains - Lepșa Resort

 Lepșa Resort

If you remember, I was telling you the other day about the Lepșa Monastery, how I discovered it and how it conquered me. In fact, that day we wanted to see other places in the mountains and since we did not succeed then due to the rain, we chose another day to visit more of the Vrancea Mountains, especially Lepșa Resort.

Lepșa Resort is located about 75 km from the town of Focsani, along the river Putna. The resort quickly became a pivot of tourism in Romania. It is located in the west of Vrancea County, at the entrance to the Tulnici Pass, which connects Moldova and Ardeal (Transylvania).

One of the main attractions of the area both in summer and in the cold season is the Cheile Tisitei nature reserve. Here, the Tisita brook dug a deep valley between Tisaru Mare and the "magura Rapa Caprei", forming these gorges of great beauty.

Another interesting tourist attraction in Vrancea County is Lepșa Trout Farm. Here, at the Lepșa Trout Farm, there are 19 pools and a maternity hospital, where the babies trout are kept.

Also close to Lepşa, if you turn right and come across the Putna Waterfall, a magical nature show that instantly captivates you. Putna Waterfall is a natural monument of the Putna Natural Park, located in Tulnici Commune as well as Lepșa village, the place where the Monastery of the same name is located. This was also our first stop. If you want to reach the Putna Waterfall, you should know that it is 70 km from Focșani.

We had to go down a few steps to the waterfall. It should be noted that the steps are damaged and you must be careful when descending to the waterfall or when climbing. About the waterfall I can tell you that it is about 80 meters long, and the water collects in a lake with a depth of about 12 meters. We didn't stay long because the clouds were covering the sky and we didn't want the rain to catch us there.

Then we went to the top of the mountains, the village is called Greșu, also from Tulnici Commune. From here Lepșa can be seen somewhere below.

In the coming days I will reveal where the most ozonated air in Europe is and yes, it is located in another area of the Vrancea Mountains.
